Coco peat or coir briquettes is also called as coir dust or coir pith. It is a byproduct of extracting fibers which is obtained from the husk of a coconut. Forms of the coco peat which are usually delivered include compressed bales, slabs, briquettes and discs. By adding water, the compressed form is
converted into fluffy coco peat. Single kilogram of coco peat after being soaked in water can expand to 15 liters of moist coco peat.

In compressed form, coir briquettes with 100% natural growing organic medium give higher volume. On soaking in water, the highly compressed coir peat can be expanded. It widely finds application in home gardening, farms, horticulture, green house, hydro seed spray, landscape as a substitute for pot
soil. Our Indian coco peat is featured with rich content of various macro and micro plant nutrients such as substantial quantities of Potassium.

Further, with high content of lignin and cellulose, the coco peat is ideal for cultivation of mushroom. In order to make good quality potting soil, the peat is mixed with sand, fertilizer and compost. Moreover, with good absorbing quality, dry coco peat can be used as an oil absorbent on slippery floors. It
also finds application as bedding in pet houses and animal farms for absorbing animal waste to keep the farm clean and dry.
